The green reasons to go solar

Using solar energy to heat your hot water is a great way to make your home more energy efficient.

During the summer months, your water heating could be totally solar powered, providing all your family's needs via sustainable solar energy. During cooler periods, your hot water can still use less 'regular' energy by topping up your tank with solar-heated water. A system can provide well over half your water heating over the course of a year.

Zero carbon and energy efficient. Sustainable and forward thinking...

Responsible energy

Domestic boilers are accountable for a staggering 60 per cent of total domestic CO2 emissions! Your home can reduce its 'carbon footprint', in turn decreasing its overall effect on climate change (an average domestic water heating system could reduce carbon dioxide emissions by around 400kg per year, depending on your household's usage levels).

Reducing your dependence on traditional energy sources such as fossil fuels and nuclear energy provides long-term protection from growing energy costs and supply uncertainties for everybody.

Low carbon or zero carbon

Solar water heating systems are traditionally low carbon rated. Most of their work is carried out using solar power and only a small amount of their operation comes from water pumps driven by mains electricity..

There are also zero rated systems, in which the water is pumped through the pipes using solar-driven pumps. They use no conventional electricity at all.
